Jonathan D. Crews, MD, MS, FAAP

BOARD CERTIFIED PEDIATRICIAN

Dr. Jonathan Crews grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (back in the heyday of the Dallas Cowboys!). Pediatric medicine captured his interest early as he saw both his uncle and grandfather care for their pediatric patients in Odessa, Texas.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin (Hook ’em Horns!) before attending medical school at Texas Tech University. He then completed a three-year pediatric residency, followed by a three-year fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases, both at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Dr. Crews spent the first seven years of his career working as a pediatric infectious diseases physician at an academic children’s hospital. There he trained future pediatricians, conducted clinical research, and cared for children with complex or rare infectious diseases. During this time, he contributed to numerous online and printed articles and textbooks (such as UpToDate, an online medical resource used worldwide), won a faculty award for excellence in patient care, and received a San Antonio Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award (but, he’s not under forty anymore).

In 2022, Dr. Crews joined Heritage Pediatrics to further develop meaningful relationships with patients and families. He looks forward to partnering with families to advance the health of their children. He is grateful to take over the practice of Dr. Graham Hall.

Dr. Crews met his wife Lindsey while living in Austin. They have four children: Will, Samuel, Sophie, and Ellie. Outside of medicine, Dr. Crews enjoys reading, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his family and church.
