Asthma usually peaks this time of year. This is a result of allergic triggers, increasing respiratory infections, and cold weather. If you child has asthma and is on a controller medicine (Flovent, Qvar, Pulmicort, Singulair, etc), make sure they are taking it daily. Missing doses makes them more prone to asthma. If you child needs more than 1 treatment of albuterol a day, he/she may need to be seen and put on oral steroids. For those of you that like to follow allergy trends; one local allergy forcast may be found here: http://saallergy.info/
